Bibi Defends Israel, Obama Defends Appeasement

Image
Obama insists Palestinians must have state, rejects Iran deadline Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu emerged from his first meeting with US President Barack Obama Monday confident that Israel has the right to defend itself from the threat of a nuclear Iran. Following four hours of talks with Obama, Netanyahu told Israeli reporters gathered across from the White House that there are no green, red or yellow lights from the US but rather a shared sense that Iran must not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapons capacity. Speaking side by side at the Oval Office earlier in the day, Obama stressed the importance the US places on Israeli security and its recognition of how the Jewish state perceives the threat from Teheran, even as he defended his policy of engagement. Obama rejected the notion of "artificial timelines" in negotiations with Iran, which he indicated he expected would begin in earnest after the Iranian election on June 12 and could subsequently expand to include direct...

Character Assassination

Image
Everyone's Deepest Fear by Kathy Krajco A narcissist I knew found herself taking a Basic Studies course, Speech 101, during her sixth year of college (when her mother finally forced her to graduate). She told me that the other students (freshmen and sophomores) were naive. That they took things for granted and — well, it sounded like she was saying they thought life a piece of cake. Kinda like the American Dream: if you do your best, do things right, and play by the rules, you will succeed and live happily ever after. So, for her first speech, she thought to wise them up by showing them that they shouldn't be so carefree. In that speech she told them that they should take nothing for granted, that no matter who you are, you can have "it all taken away." Just like that. Overnight. Your job, career, your friends and family — everything. And through no fault of your own. No matter how good a person you are. No matter how well you do what you do. I naturally thought she w...

Reaching Out to the Non-Jew

Image
Our generation is the first since the dispersion of the Jewish People in which the Jew is able (and therefore obligated) to reach out to the non-Jew. The purpose is to create a movement among righteous gentiles worldwide, a forsaking of false religions and an acceptance of the seven Noahide commandments. The Noahide commandments are those that God gave to Adam and his descendants and, after the flood, to Noah and his descendants. They are binding upon all of humanity, and were included in the Torah when God gave it to the People of Israel at Mount Sinai. The Torah testifies that these commandments were indeed those God gave man from the outset of creation, and is therefore the ultimate source of their authority. The Torah further obligates Jews to teach and encourage all the nations of the earth to accept these commandments. A non-Jew who accepts the seven Noahide commandments recognizes that the ultimate purpose of his life is to serve God and establish peace on earth. PLEASE CLICK HE...

Understanding the Tactics of Abuse

Image
a definition of verbal abuse - You understand their feelings, but they never attempt to understand yours; - They dismiss your difficulties or issues as unimportant or an overreaction; - They do not listen to you; - They always put their needs before yours; - They expect you to perform tasks that you find unpleasant, uncomfortable or humiliating; - You "walk on eggshells" in an effort not to upset them; - They ignore logic and prefer amateur theatrics in order to remain the center of attention; - Instead they manipulate you into feeling guilty for things that have nothing to do with you; - They attempt to destroy any outside support you receive by belittling the people/ service/ practice in an attempt to retain exclusive control over your emotions; - They never take responsibility for hurting others; - They blame everyone and everything else for any unfortunate events in their lives; - They perceive themselves as martyrs or victims and constantly expect preferential treatment....

'Stop Missionizing Jews' - Vatican Agrees

Image
Wonder if all the 'missionizing' Catholics are really going to stop? After meeting the grand mufti of Jerusalem, Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, and praying at the Western Wall on Tuesday, Pope Benedict XVI arrived for a historic meeting with the chief rabbis at Heichal Shlomo, next to the capital's Great Synagogue, and agreed that the Catholic Church will cease all missionary activity among Jews. In his welcoming address, Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Yona Metzger thanked the pope for his announcement, calling it an "historic agreement and, "for us, an immensely important message." Metzger also congratulated the pope on his arrival to "our holy land - the land to which we prayed to return during 2,000 years of exile... And, with God's help, our meeting today is taking place in the Land of Israel, in our city of Jerusalem - the eternal capital of the Jewish people." In a hint of criticism over Benedict's speech at Yad Vashem on Monday, which was received wi...

May 12 - Awareness Day

Image
MAY 12 AWARENESS DAY Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS) Fact Sheet Chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome (CFIDS) is also called chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). It is recognized by the National Institutes of Health, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Food and Drug Administration and Social Security Administration as a serious, disabling illness. CFIDS is characterized by unrelenting exhaustion, muscle and joint pain, cognitive disorders and other symptoms (read on). Many people with CFIDS are denied disability benefits because doctors and employers wrongly believe they are lazy or have a mental illness rather than a serious physical condition. Although its name trivializes the illness as little more than mere tiredness, chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome (CFIDS), also known as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), brings with it a constellation of debilitating symptoms. CFIDS is characterized by incapacitating fatigue (experienced as p...

Invisible No More

Dr. Devin J. Starlanyl Remarks Invisible Illnesses Conference Washington, DC (May 11, 2002) Thanks for all the other wonderful people who have taken so much time and effort to bring about this event. Look around you. Most of us here, those with chronic invisible illnesses, share more with each other than we do with our blood relatives. About 10 years ago, I created a word, FMily, to express the bond that we share. It’s not just people with fibromyalgia and chronic myofascial pain that share this bond. We all have in common invisible illness, and many of us have more than one. We are a FAMILY, as close as any troops who have been through war together and survived. Welcome, everyone, to the first National Family Reunion. Immobility is difficult for us. It’s okay to move around, stretch, or whatever you need to be as comfortable as possible. I do understand. I’ll teach you a few tricks to help. Contract the muscles on one side of your buttocks, and then relax them, and then do the same w...
