Hypocrisy in Pornistan

Image
by Kelli Morgan They may call it the "Land of the Pure," but Pakistan turns out to be anything but. The Muslim country, which has banned content on at least 17 websites to block offensive and blasphemous material, is the world's leader in online searches for pornographic material, FoxNews.com has learned. “You won’t find strip clubs in Islamic countries. Most Islamic countries have certain dress codes,” said Gabriel Said Reynolds, professor of Islamic Studies at the University of Notre Dame. “It would be an irony if they haven’t shown the same vigilance to pornography.” So here's the irony: Google ranks Pakistan No. 1 in the world in searches for pornographic terms, outranking every other country in the world in searches per person for certain sex-related content. Pakistan is top dog in searches per-person for:  "horse sex" since 2004,  "donkey sex" since 2007, "rape pictures" between 2004 and 2009, "rape sex" since ...

Brainwashed by the Taliban

Image
Pakistan – Seemingly never-ending tales of terror abound in Swat, where the military has fought against the Taliban for years and where parents speak of being forced to surrender young boys to the militants who train them to become suicide bombers. The scars may take years to heal for Hamad Ahmad, one of many Pakistani boys purportedly brainwashed by the Taliban and determined to enact maximum carnage as a suicide bomber. His mind trained on violence and his heart full of God, Ahmad says he wants to carry a pistol and strap explosives to his body in the name of Islamic law -- not hold books and wear school uniform. "I am ready to carry out a suicide attack against any target with approval of my ameer (chief)," said 15-year-old Hamad, who claimed he received 40 days of training from the Taliban after being snatched last year. Hamad, who talked to AFP by telephone from Qambar village in Swat, is now among a group of teenagers being treated by military psychiatrists in the wa...

Muslim Men and the Roots of Anger

Image
Before resting its recent case against Mohammed Momin Khawaja under Canada’s Anti-Terrorism Act, the prosecution presented Momin’s former fiancée, Zeba Khan, as the final witness via a video link from Dubai. Ms. Khan reportedly stated in her testimony: “You will not meet a young Muslim man in the world who is not angry about something. Anyone who watches the news, if he wasn’t mad then, a) there’s something wrong with him, or b) he’s ignorant.” Obviously, not all angry young Muslim men are engaging in violence — nor, of course, are all Muslims terrorists. But many terrorists are found to be Muslims. Ms. Khan’s remark purports to explain the linkage. It is perhaps no coincidence that Mr. Khawaja has Pakistani roots. In recent years, Pakistan has become a haven for al-Qaeda terrorists. For longer than that, jihadis have recruited Pakistani boys and men to fight in Kashmir and Afghanistan. These brainwashed men may be volunteers headed out to fight infidel “invaders” and “occupiers” of Mu...

Father Pleads for His THREE YEAR OLD Not to be Married Off

Image
Yes, that was not a typo. THREE YEARS OLD! Positively depraved. Pakistan: A father has pleaded for help, as a local influential man has demanded him to marry his three-year-old daughter to his son, threatening to kill her otherwise. Addressing a press conference at the National Press Club here on Sunday Rahib Shar, resident of village Aatna Mori, taluka Sindhri has accused that one Abdul Rahim Shar of threatening to kidnap and kill his three-year-old daughter Saleemat if he did not marry her to his son. The father of the girl said that he had asked Rahim to wait till his daughter reaches the age of maturity, but instead he was threatened with dire consequences. Rahib Shar said he had submitted applications to the Mirpurkhas DPO and the Mirpurkhas district and sessions judge. But despite the directives of the DPO and orders of the sessions judge to register a case against the accused, the Phuladyyoon SHO was hesitant to take any action and not providing him protection, he accused. He...

I will let this article speak for itself... because I feel too ill. Young Pakistani girls traded as settlement in tribal feud by Saeed Shah ISLAMABAD — It began with an errant dog,. It's culminated with the forced betrothal of 15 little girls, some of them as young as three, as compensation in a case of tribal feuding in a remote part of Pakistan. It's thought that around 20 people have died in the bitter quarrel, and the marriage offer of the girls is meant to end the bloodletting. Under a brutal custom, called Vani, the girls are being traded as settlement of a long-running dispute between two trib...

Two Years after I Called for a Redeployment of U.S. Forces from Iraq, Bush Refuses to Provide the American People with a Responsible Exit Strategy (one comment - when did EXIT STRATEGY = SURRENDER? It doesn't. And no right wing nutjob's semantics is going to make me believe getting our troops out in an orderly and sane manner is the same as surrender. No matter how many times they say it.) "See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." - Pres. Bush, at the Athena Performing Arts Center at Greece Athena Middle and High School Tuesday, May 24, 2005 in Rochester, NY - SOURCE by Rep. John Murtha [November 17, 2007] marks the two year anniversary of my public call for the redeployment of U.S. forces from Iraq. Two years ago, I was convinced that the President's lack of strategy in Iraq was harming our military, our international credibility, and the strength of our...

FUNNY, BECAUSE IT'S ALMOST TRUE. When I was writing and doing comedy there was one truism. No - it wasn't self-deprecation or making fun of others. It was the TRUTH. The truth, when pointed out with all its warts or put up close, under the microscope - is the funniest material you can ever hope to have. Just ask Larry David. That said, Andy Borowitz's piece below is hysterical, because it's almost true: Bush Gives Musharraf Tips on Eliminating Democracy ‘ Benefit From My Experience,’ President Tells Pakistani In what he described as “an emergency mission to help a key ally in the war on terror,” President George W. Bush flew to Islamabad today to give General Pervez Musharraf tips on how to eliminate democracy. Mr. Bush said he scheduled the trip just hours after General Musharraf declared a state of emergency in Pakistan and suspended elections “because when it comes to eliminating democracy, I thought my friend Pervez could benefit from my experience.” Speaking to...

Pakistan is in a serious mess - but did anyone notice? By Mary Shaw Things got ugly in Pakistan over the weekend. General Pervez Musharraf, the current president of Pakistan, has gone wild. He suspended the Constitution, and has declared a state of emergency, as of 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3. Musharraf's goons have arrested his political opponents and judges, lawyers, and human rights activists. The upcoming election, scheduled for January 2008, may be postponed. All private TV channels and international media have been taken off the air. It's basically a police state. And it's quite possibly about to explode. Now consider the following: • The CIA believes [1] that Pakistan is harboring al-Qaeda, including Osama bin Laden. • Pakistan has nukes [2]. • That is a very volatile part of the world to begin with. Uh-oh. My local press [3] has been silent on the issue. Thank goodness for the Internet, the international press, and the unfortunately named but politically as...
