Did We All See The Same Biden/ Palin Debate?

Image
Didya see the Palin/ Biden Debate? I did. And Palin cleared wiped the floor with Biden. I was fearful that Biden's suppsed experience and expertise would make Palin look like the Bimbo they keep trying to paint her as or the harpy they painted Hillary as. I was wrong! PHEW!! But then... I decided to listen to some talk radio. Both on the Right and The Left. All I can say is, "OMG are we all on the same planet? Did we all see the SAME debate?" My head is spinning from the spin. I need to lay down. PIT BULL KICKS WONK BUTT by Charles Hurt Joe Biden tiptoed out on stage last night wondering whether he'd face a lady pitifully out of her depth or the lipstick end of a pit bull. He found out real fast. Biden's striped-pants Washington wonk talk ran into a regular American who looked like a lady, talked like a hockey mom and smacked him around like a cat playing with a mouse. "Oh, man, it's so obvious that I'm a Washington outsider and someone just n...

Attention Voters: Who Am I?

Image
From the GREAT NoQuarter: Who Am I? * I am under 45 years old, * I love the outdoors, * I hunt, * I am a Republican reformer, * I have taken on the Republican Party establishment, * I have many children, * I have a spot on the national ticket as vice president with less than two years in the governor’s office. Teddy Roosevelt In 1901, as Vice President, the 42-year-old Roosevelt succeeded President William McKinley after McKinley’s assassination by anarchist Leon Czolgosz. He is the youngest person to become President. He was a Progressive reformer who sought to move the dominant Republican Party into the Progressive camp. He distrusted wealthy businessmen and dissolved forty monopolistic corporations as a “trust buster”. He was clear, however, to show he did not disagree with trusts and capitalism in principle but was only against corrupt, illegal practices. His “Square Deal” promised a fair shake for both the average citizen (through regulation of railroad rates and pure food and dru...

How LOW Can They Go?

Image
Unbelievable! The smearing and slamming of Sarah Palin is already boggling my mind. I remember a professor of mine in college talking about the inner process of acting with me. We were sitting in his office and the conversation was getting very esoteric and interesting to me. At one point in our chat he leaned forward and said, "be careful what you hate and fear; because there's an inherent danger in BECOMING that thing as you try to fight it." I didn't understand what he meant at the time but I remembered and as the years wore on he's been proved right over & over again. The Dems and Far Left as now JUST AS BAD AS THE ACCUSED THE FAR RIGHT OF BEING IN 2000 AND 2004!! Today alone I heard that: Sarah Palin isn't a good mother to her infant, special needs child - because she's running for Vice President! (Would they say that to a man?) Sarah Palin was a knee-jerk choice on McCain's part because the RNC vetoed Joe Lieberman. (say what??) Sarah Pa...

Why I Turned P.U.M.A.

Image
From NO QUARTER : by LisaB. I’ve given a lot of thought to why I turned PUMA. On paper, I should be a loyal Democrat excited about this year’s “break-through” candidate. But I’m not. I will not vote for Obama under any circumstances I can think of (well, OK, if Cheney became the Republican nominee, I’d go for Obama). Given my history of voting for AA and Democratic candidates, this really doesn’t make sense, does it? Hillary was never the perfect candidate. Luckily, I didn’t expect her to be. I expected she would sometimes disappoint me and take a position I disagreed with. Such is life, quite frankly. I was initially intrigued by Obama - a fresh face and a promise of change. But as the season wore on, I settled on Hillary. Why? Hillary has a history of giving a damn. That’s rare enough in today’s Washington. More rare is someone who gives a damn and has been giving a damn for years. Any read of Hillary’s resume shows deep experience and any talk with her will show you this lady knows ...

Dear Senator Obama,

Image
A brilliant piece by Jane Devin! Her great blog is here. Today I almost lost my lunch seeing the MSM spin Obama's recent "race" speech to his advantage and comparing his latest damage control to the Gettysburg Address. Be afraid, campers. VERY AFRAID. Dear Senator Obama: Do not give me hope, with all of its temporary glory and flowery promises. Give me action, swift and sustainable, that I, and millions like me, can rely on tomorrow. Hope does not feed the hungry family. Hope does not provide a higher education for those in the lower classes. Hope does not lessen the burden on the backs of the middle class. Do not give me hope where bread is needed. Do not speak to me of wings, but of steady, well-grounded roots. Show me the depth, the width, the breadth of the knowledge behind your impassioned rhetoric. Show me how it is that you will stave off the worst of the recession we are now in, ease this country’s $9 trillion dollar debt, repair our infrastructure, get us out o...

Experience VS Inspiration

Image
I am flabbergasted. I actually agree with Roseanne. Yeah, I'm shocked too. But this actually makes sense. (And, btw - my inside track told me Roseanne had a pretty hefty non-disclosure agreement for her employees too) by Roseanne Barr When I fly in an airplane I want the pilot with the most experience, not the one who can inspire hope in me that I get to where I am going. When I pay my taxes, I want the person filing them to be experienced, not the new person who inspires hope in me that he can do the job. When I hire someone to fix my washing machine, I want the tried and true experienced person, not the one who inspires me to hope that he can fix it. When I go to the doctor I do not want to get the one who inspires hope in me that s/he can cure what's wrong, but the one who knows what the hell to do the minute I call. It's not really the job of a public servant to inspire, but to get the job that the people demand done. The democrats think that if they have hope and ar...
