From the awesome NoQuarter: I recently read a comment from an Obama supporter here at No Quarter, who asked, “What’s an Obot?” I think he was serious! Of course, an Obot is an Obama Robot, programmed to see Obama as good and pure, incapable of evil, and a hero who must be robustly defended from criticism. The word “Obot” came about mostly to describe a paid blogger; there were lots of those during the long campaign. Many were only in it for the money, but most truly believed they were fighting the good fight by attacking his opponents and their supporters mercilessly… and sometimes nonsensically. They were given daily email calls to action, with talking points (they all said the same things), and were basically brain-washed kids. The word kind of evolved from that, coming to include all those zombies who relentlessly visit anti-Obama blogs and spew their opposition to anyone who doesn’t get on the Obamawagon. As if there was any more reason evidence to show that while race relations has moved forward in this country -- gender relationships and the equality of women has gone nowhere and remains in the dark ages... just a few steps from rape and exploitation being JUSTIFIABLE in terms of respect and women being viewed merely as sex objects. Of course now all photos of Favreau are — poof! — gon e, but alas, not before this minor offense made its way to the surface. You knew it was going to happen. ... The charming, nice and fun Favreau, 27, has long been touted as a huge rising star — and not just because he shares a name with a famous actor. Ah, the Obamabots welcoming the democracy process with open arms!! from THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE While a GOP leader in Florida had his home shot at by political opponents, acts of vandalism, dirty tricks, and threats of violence are escalating in California. The state is doubly hit by the contentious US presidential race and the controversial Proposition 8, which would ban gay marriage statewide. Examples of this include the Ottos of Carmichael, CA were intimidated into removing their pro-McCain lawn signs. Another family promoting Proposition 8 with lawn signs were victimized by graffiti vandals who wrote “Bigots live here” on their car window. Many other reports have surfaced about the vandalizing of lawn signs promoting a political agenda. In California, stealing or damaging signs worth less than $400 is a misdemeanor and anything worth more than $400 is a felony. Blogger.com rarely, if ever, takes down a site. Even a blatant, outright, slanderous personal hate sites . But they will call blogs that publish one negative thing against the Obamessiah "Spam Blogs" and get rid of them faster than white slacks after Labor Day. Shame on you, Blogger!! And Shame you Obamaniacs... if your man can't stand the heat tell him to get the heck out of the kitchen! ~~~~~~~~~~ Here's one blog that's moved: Many anti-Obama blogs were locked down on 6/25/08 by Blogger, supposedly due to their policy against "spamming." This is an outrage, but we're not going down without a fight. We've set up our new place on WordPress. Coincidentally, we also called the new blog NObama Blog because we really, really like the name.
