US suicide rate rises as recession continues New alarming statistics suggest that the number of suicides in the US has increased with the effects of the recession. The latest surveys show the number of Americans killing themselves because of issues related with the economy may be climbing in the recessionary year of 2008 compared with that of 2007. “Suicide among families for financial breakdown is of great importance and certainly preventable.
