Twenty-One Years Gone

Image
(for D., gone but not forgotten) (March 8, 1957 - January 1, 2000) Introduced by another sociopath I had the misfortune to know in November 1975, D. wielded svengali -like control over me for some time. After a while it was control by fear.  There was physical, emotional, psychological and sexual abuse.  But I covered it up - knowing no one back them would believe me thanks to D.'s smear campaigns.  Back then I knew nothing about sociopaths, brainwashing or trauma bonding. When we first met and he took me out he was very charming and came on VERY strong.  I found out later he didn't believe I had a boyfriend in high school. When he found out I did (t he boyfriend wrote me all the time and came to our college to visit me.  D ran into us in the college dining hall ) he freaked out. I later learned that D. had taken off with his parent's credit card for a motel in town (off-campus) and holed up there getting high and railing about me for 2 days when...

Forest Obscures Trees - Film at Eleven

Kathy Krajco was one of the best bloggers out there. She wrote with clarity and in a way that everyone can understand. She uses relatable examples and aren't condescending or flippant. I read her blog for about 3 years now, since starting work on my ongoing emotional & psychic recovery and I am never disappointed. She nails it every time. They have one priority - to u...

Obamessives and Obamicans

Image
Anyone besides me deeply distrubed that the media is treating Obama like the messiah? Sick of them trumpetting his Afghanistan visit rather than focusing on the realities of his flip flops and unclear policies? The stories of people fainting at his rallies and him being compared to the Beatles or Frank Sinatra? The 'softening' by his P.R. people of Michele? Blogs & sites disappearing or being scrubbed at the hands of the Obama Sheeple? Anyone else just sick at heart of the possibility of this guy being in the White House in January? American deserves and NEEDS better than this. By David Swanson A friend just described to me the scene in February 2008 in Richmond, Va., prior to the Tuesday Virginia primary in which Obama trounced Clinton. Both of them spoke at a Democratic Party dinner in Richmond, and a huge crowd outside and inside cheered and screamed, reportedly mostly for Obama. My friend said she'd not felt the same thing since the 1963 march on Washington. She...
