Abstinence Only Programs... They're Baaaack

Image
Seems Obama embraced it as part of his continued efforts to subjagate women. I think we need to impose a FINE on every politician that lands in a sex scandal. The deficit would be paid off in no time! (and for gosh sake, get rid of Nancy Pelosi!!) Please read this commentary from the inscrutable Uppity Woman , who - as always - says it better than I ever could! What day is the protest against the reinstated Abstinence Only program? Politics Daily noticed something interesting. The purpose of the program was to promote virginity among the ten remaining virgins in the USA, and discourage sex outside of marriage. It was a very Far Right Wing Whacko Chrstian-y thing, the kind of thing that sends the Far Left Wing Whackos into seizures of anger, complete with eyes rolling backwards into their sockets and uncontrollable body twitching. The 2010 Health Care Reform bill has a little noticed provision in it that provides $250 million for the reinstatement of the very same program. The Na...

More About Psychopaths in American Politics

Image
by Gene Messick On 11 December I wrote an Article for OEN about this: Opportunities to deal with sociopaths in American politics. Since then, I've been collecting examples to prove my point. Just recently I discovered one of the most egregious examples to date, described in a recent Mother Jones blog by Jonathan Stine in which he wrote this: "Alberto Gonzales: Pathetic? Deluded? Crazy? Short fiction writer Alberto Gonzales is confused, asking in a recent interview, "What is it that I did that is so fundamentally wrong, that deserves this kind of response to my service?" If Gonzales is trying this unctuous nonsense in an attempt at image-rehabilitation, he needs to hire a professional PR company. If he's asking this question in earnest, he is demonstrably insane. As Think Progress points out, the answer to Gonzales' question includes: corrupting the DOJ by insiting on ideological purity tests in hiring; firing US Attorneys that refused to toe the Bu...

Sexual Seduction & Psychic Terrorism

Image
I f we as a society, are going to condemn the sexual terrorism done by our government - then we must recognize and take steps to hold the perpetrators of emotional abuse, which includes 'sexual terrorism' accountable. Should we give Tiger Woods a pass? The way Obama gave Bush a pass? We need to stop blaming the victims and saying 'they agreed to it' or 'they knew what they were getting into' and hold those who destroy the lives of victims as well as their peace of mind -- accountable. SEDUCTION. The offense of a man who abuses the simplicity and confidence of a woman to obtain by false promises what she ought not to grant. 2. The woman being particeps criminis , has no remedy for the mere seduction, nor is there, to the discredit of the law, a direct remedy in her parents. The seducer may be sued, though not. directly or ostensibly for the seduction Just as adultery lingers in the criminal codes of some states, so does seduction. 5 Harr. & J. 27;...

Why Throwing Shoes is a Massive Insult

Image
Don't get me wrong. I can't stand President Bush. But I think many Americans miss the point of what a massive insult shoes being thrown at him was in Iraqi culture. During a Sunday press conference in Baghdad, an angry Iraqi journa list hurled insults, and his shoes, at President Bush. According to the New York Times, "Hitting someone with a shoe is considered the supreme insult in Iraq." Why is that? Because they're so dirty. The degree of insult seems to be an idiosyncratic cultural development, as opposed to one that derives from clear textual sources. There's no particular mention in the Quran or any of the Hadith of shoe-throwing or debasement of enemies by exposing them to feet. And historical origins for the tradition are not easily found. However it started, Arabs—and perhaps Iraqis in particular—throw their shoes to indicate that the target is no better than dirt. The foot has special meaning in many societies. Most cultures see the act of subjecti...

A Means for Dominion and Downfall

Image
The Abuser's Ploy: A Means for Dominion and Downfall I'd posted this on my other blog a while back. It relates political events to abuse and domestic violence in a very powerful and clear way. Its as revelant today as it was when I first posted it, in fact more so. And it deserves a repost so here goes: by Joyce Walker As citizens become aware of the dilemma the United States faces, they may find themselves wondering what happened to the "land of the free and the home of the brave." It seems incredible that a few rogue politicians could reek such havoc on the democratic traditions of a liberty loving nation such as ours. You would have thought that the violence against protestors by the military in Georgia at The School of the Americas and by police in Miami at the FTAA conference would have caused a public outcry, but the events were hardly mentioned in the news, except in local media which give a slanted view. Clues to this apparent apathy might be found in som...

One Ring... To Rule Them All

Image
This is SOOOOO SICK!!! Sociopaths use someone's personal pain as their "in" to their lives for whatever their sick reason may be: money, sex, etc.... and when they are done with you... Well, just wait till Obamalamadingdong is done with you all. from No Quarter: Obama’s Con Job Destined to Break a Lot of Hearts Gotta love that marketing! Voting for President is more than just a civic responsibility. It’s cool, too! First, behold The ChangeRing. Then, behold why it is a problem: …A wearable symbol of “change” that is becoming a cult hit in Obamaland. Originally designed to be a wearable key-chain … young Obamaphiles have also taken to hanging it from a necklace or strapping it on their wrist. Driving its movement around the country is that it is sold as “buy one/give one” and people are passing it to their friends and family members. Another thing that makes The ChangeRing so compelling is the multi-layered story that has been woven into the product: the ring and it...

Does Loyalty Really Trump INTEGRITY?

Image
I don't think so. No. But it seems I and this author are in the minority, unfortunately. by Stephen Rose It’s hard to express just how disgusted I get when hearing this “loyalty to the President while he is still in office” crap! We’ve repeatedly been the recipients of this faulty logic as various former members of the Bush Administration have been unabashedly attacked for saying anything negative about their previous employers, the President and his staff – names such as Richard Clarke, Paul O’Neill, Joseph Wilson, and now Scott McClellan come to mind. How clearly can it be stated -- The loyalty of any government employee is ultimately to the United States of America, not to any politicians or leaders, or to the offices they hold! Any government office is only as important as the person who holds it. Though the oath taken by the President is to the nation, and the oath of the military is to the President, the implication of the latter is that the President will be loyal to the na...

A "Scorned Woman"?

Image
Poor Scott McClelland. Now BushCo and their PNAC cronies are calling the guy everything but a "scorned woman." If he was a Jew - there'd be accusations of "lashon hara" being leveled at him. If we wait long enough -- maybe there will. I've been called "a scorned woman" or "hell hath no fury" or "unrequieted stalker" and even a "disgruntled employee." I always did it for the right reasons. I never ever have done so to "get" someone or to "have revenge." I have to laugh because each and every SINGLE TIME I've been called those names it has been for the same exact reason: I TOLD THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH. Being a truth-teller or whistleblower is no fun. Scott obviously just couldn't live with himself anymore. What he said was no different than what many people have said in the last 8 years of the Bush Crime Family disaster in Washington. The Republican Party is going have a rough time pulling...
