Prisoners of the 4th Commandment

Image
I'm drawn to work & people that provoke thought for me. Even if I don't agree with it - I take it in because I find I learn more from disagreement, about myself and about the way Hashem works in each of us. I used to read a site called THE DAILY OM. The other day the article du jour was entitled BLAMING OTHERS. At the end it said: We do this by forgiving our parents, even if they have not asked for our forgiveness, so that we can be free. We end the abusive relationship with our partner, who may never admit to any wrongdoing, because we are willing to take responsibility for how we are treated. In short, we love ourselves as we want to be loved and create the life we know we deserve. We leave the resolution of the wrongs committed against us in the hands of the universe, releasing ourselves to live a life free of blame. BULLPOCKY!!! I don't buy it. For many many years I was raised by a parent who abused, used and manipulated me - but I was taught that I HAD to l...

PTSD Symptoms from Abuse & Bullying

Image
This information was, in my opinion, so important for EVERYONE who has EVER been bullied -- whether as an adult or a child, online or off... verbally or emotionally abused, teased, put down, invalidated, smeared or slammed -- I am putting it here on my personal blog. I have, far too often, heard people I think should know better say -- "PTSD just PROVES [that person] is mentally ill." PTSD is NOT Mental Illness -- it is Psychological Injury. When we start to remove the stigma -- more people who need treatment & support will get it. If John McCain had become President? We'd have had a man in the White House who has PTSD. Think about it. Common features of Complex PTSD from bullying People suffering Complex PTSD as a result of bullying report consistent symptoms which further help to characterize psychiatric injury and differentiate it from mental illness. These include: Fatigue with symptoms of or similar to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (formerly ME...

Bullies

Image
Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamofascists, The Religious Right, The Obama Administration or that person who harasses or harangues you offline or on. Bullies follow a pattern. A pattern that is a form of a personality disorder, of which the worst form is sociopathy. Sociopaths have no guilt, no shame, no empathy, nothing. They will stick by their closest friends and family (they have to because they need sycophants to bail them out all the time) and have no compassion for those they hurt. They only play-act as if they have human emotions (learned by watching others) because they can't feel. They don't have an anger problem - their problem is with YOUR anger. Heaven forbid you should be hurt or angry. If a sociopath raped someone, he'd be mad that she sought medical and legal attention. If a sociopath stole something, she'd be angry you called the police or even had the temerity to ask for your things back. If a sociopath hit you with their car, they'd be angry you rep...

Bullying of Jews Taken on by Weisenthal Center

Image
by Abe Selig Growing harassment of Jewish students on college campuses across Britain, the US and Canada has prompted the Simon Wiesenthal Center to announce plans for an international effort to counter the phenomenon. The whole idea of the campaign is "to debunk the mythology of the anti-Israel forces," Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the center's associate dean, told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday. The campaign will include a so-called "iCAN" ad to run in student newspapers during this year's Israel Apartheid Week (which starts on Sunday), in which protesters worldwide will attempt to compare the Jewish state with the former racist regime in South Africa. The ad, which features two aluminum cans connected together by a string, asks where modern society would be if it boycotted Israeli technology. "Committed to boycotting Israel?" the ad asks. "Be Zion-free - do not use cellphones, voicemail, AIM and ICQ instant messaging, Google (which runs on Israel...

'Adolf Hitler' & 2 Sisters Removed From Their Parents

Image
Of course its because of 'more than the name.' My Gosh can you imagine what kind of parents these are? A 3-year-old boy named Adolf Hitler and his two Nazi-named younger sisters were removed from their New Jersey home last week and placed in state custody, police said. Adolf Hitler Campbell and his sisters, JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell , were taken from their Holland Township, N.J., home on Friday by the state's Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS), Sgt. John Harris of the Holland Township Police Department told FOXNews.com. Their father, Heath Campbell, is expected in court Thursday in Flemington, N.J., in connection with the case. Kate Bernyk, a spokeswoman for the DYFS, said confidentiality laws barred her from commenting on the case or even confirming that the Campbell children were involved. "DYFS has their reasons and they normally don’t release any information, so we kind of have to go on faith with them,...

Narcissistic Rage in Leaders

Image
Why Leaders Make a Mistake, Can't Fix it and Won't Admit it. A world leader can make a huge mistake such as leading their nation to an unjust war, then, after the reasons for the war are shown to be invalid, not be able to bring themselves to admit that the mistake that the war was wrong or be “big enough” to reverse policy and stop the war. Instead, they continue to maintain that the war was right all along, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. They defend their error, fail to reverse course, and allow many more to die needlessly. This happens often in history. One thinks of Napoleon’s foolish invasion of Russia. Hitler did the same a century later. One thinks of Vietnam. One thinks of Iraq. Psychiatrists call it "narcissistic rage in leaders". It is direct evidence of a leader's fundamental psychological weakness--a damaged and fragile self-concept. But it can also lead to the destruction of individuals, groups, organizations, and even entire nations. ...

June is Internet Safety Month

Image
As the Internet has become more and more a part of our lives, people of all ages have become more vulnerable to Internet crime, such as cyberbullying, online predators, online affairs, emotional or psychological exploitation, scams and pornography. In recognition of this growing concern, the United States Senate declared June -- National Internet Safety Month. Please spend a few moments surfing for information on internet safety -- for yourself & your children. And remember - nothing you post on the internet is ever really gone. Archival searches can pull up everything. Aggregators pick up every little word you type and sort it out. So Blog responsibly! MORE

Bush's Climate Speech: More Disinformation

Image
Buried in President Bush’s mostly empty speech on climate change April 16 was a signal that the White House is likely to continue to stonewall on compliance with the Supreme Court’s ruling on greenhouse gas regulation and clear requirements of the nation’s environmental laws. With this above-the-law posture he is adopting a position urged on him by the global warming disinformation campaign and its political allies. Most of the media coverage of the President’s “Rose Garden speech” on climate change April 16 focused on his stated goal of allowing U.S. greenhouse gas emissions to continue to rise for another 17 years before leveling off, his failure to lay out any new real policy initiatives even to accomplish that much, and unfavorable reactions to the speech (see here, here, here, here, here, here, and here). It’s not clear what, if much of anything, will follow from this piece of political theater. But note what the President said about the laws and the courts, and consider how these...

RELATIONAL AGGRESSION - GREAT BLOG FIND! I just came across a site I truly like . The blogger subscribed to my other site via BlogCatalog . I am nicking one of her posts here, with attribution. Go give her a read ! Don’t let them trivialize you! by Demian~DreamSinger I just read a review concerning a book about relational aggression between family members. It states the book was “Chock-full of real-life, victim-oriented stories by complaining women”. I haven’t read the book yet, but when I do I’ll post my own review. What really pisses me off, before even reading the book is this attitude of trivializing the experiences of women. “Victim-oriented…complaining women“? Oh, God, well then let me keep my mouth shut and stop taking up the media resources to talk about my issues and experiences as a woman. Shame on me! Okay, let’s try this… ”Chock-full of real-life victim-oriented stories by complaining Blacks.” Or how about this?… ”Chock-full of real-life victim-oriented stories by comp...
