Why Jerusalem Can Not Be 'Divided'

Image
By David Weinberg The Obama-Netanyahu confrontation is that the White House wants to move Israel rapidly towards a division of Jerusalem. However, the widely held presumption that splitting Jerusalem will lead to prosperity for the city and to peace for Jews and Arabs is an egregious error. Partitioning Jerusalem will destroy the city. It will die, in every way - culturally, religiously, economically and more. And politically, the shearing of Jerusalem into Arab and Jewish sovereignties will turn it into the bull's eye of Mideast battle - a city that will make Belfast at its worst look like paradise. The main reason for this is that any section of the city handed over to Arab rule will immediately become ground zero for the fierce war being waged within the Arab world over Islamic lifestyle, ideology and legitimacy. Just who is going to rule in Arab eastern Jerusalem? Will it be the declining secular Palestinian national movement (whose sway in the West Bank is tentative a...

Israel - Held to an Impossible Standard

Image
I'm sick of it. The 'friends' who say they aren't "anti-Israel" but keep calling for the U.S. to condemn Israel. Now they won't admit THEY GOT IT WRONG. That "humanitarian" flotilla? WAS A TROJAN HORSE FOR WEAPONS & TERRORISTS. As one journalist said "Israel is the only country in the world NOT allowed to defend itself." Enough's enough you 'Social Justice' activitists. There is no such thing as Palestine. So -- Shut up and sit down! Look what Israel didn't do wrong By John Podhoretz No matter whom you ask right now, it seems Israel did wrong. Ask someone unfavorably disposed toward Israel, and you'll hear that Israel did wrong because its assassins opened fire without provocation on a humanitarian flotilla intended to relieve the suffering people of Gaza. Ask a friend of Israel, and you'll hear that Israel did wrong because it sent its commandos in the dark into a hostile crowd that did ...

Hamas' Mass 'Kiddie Wedding'?

Aaron Klein World Net Daily Hamas has strongly denied Internet rumors and blog reports claiming the Islamist group last week held a mass ceremony at which little girls were married off. A video circulating on the Internet (above), titled “Hamas shocking mass wedding for 450 little girls,” purports to show children who appear to be about eight to ten years old being married off in a mass Hamas ceremony last week. Little girls in what appear to be wedding dresses are filmed arriving in cars and then walking down the isle with the grooms. The video and related pictures generated scores of blog postings making similar claims that Hamas was marrying off hundreds of little girls. WND received a large volume of e-mail asking the news organization to investigate. Hamas indeed held a mass ceremony last Thursday in which nearly a thousand Palestinians celebrated marriage. Many of the families involved said they could not afford their own wedding party. Each groom received a present of about $500...

Top 10 Reasons Not to Let Hamas Arrange Your Marriage

Image
By Marylou Barry Have you ever wanted something so badly that you would have accepted it from anyone, even if you knew that person placed absolutely no value on you, your family, your future, or your right to go on living? That's exactly what hundreds of single people are doing right now in Gaza, the southern coastal region of Israel that was ethnically cleansed of Jews and surrendered to Islamic terrorists by the Ariel Sharon administration four years ago. According to the Associated Press article "Hamas gets into matchmaking biz," Hamas's Tayseer Association for Marriage and Development in Gaza is now in the profession of introducing men and women seeking marriage partners. Tayseer, which handles the more mundane functions of the Hamas political/military outfit that runs Gaza, bills itself as the "humanitarian" arm of that terror organization – quite a turnabout for hoodlums whose only accomplishments to date consist of robbery, rape, kidnapping, murder an...

"Don't Take Netanyahu Seriously!"

Image
Barack's pissing all over Bibi already, after Bibi's speech... this should come as a surprise to NO ONE! by Aaron Klein The Palestinian Authority has received signs from the U.S. that it should not take seriously Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent major address, according to a top PA official speaking to WorldNet Daily (WND). Nimer Hamad, senior political adviser to PA President Mahmoud Abbas, also said the PA is not concerned about Netanyahu's policies since Abbas relies on American support for key Palestinian demands. During Netanyahu's speech Sunday, the Israeli leader called for a demilitarized Palestinian state and said Jerusalem would always be united under Jewish sovereignty. Hamad countered: "No matter what is the position of the Israeli government and no matter what are the statements of Netanyahu, what counts is what was promised to us by Obama, which is totally the opposite [of Netanyahu's positions]." "We received encouraging ...

Closed System of Logic

My handful of readers are, I'm sure, tired of me comparing terrorists to abusers. For everyone else - I have to put these articles out there. One after the other. Yes, I do see abuse around every corner. Especially when it comes to these animals. You'll get it. Honest, you will. Now if people like Obama & Biden would just answer the clue phone. TWO LOOKS AT THE CRITERIA FOR THOUGHT REFORM Dr. Robert J. Lifton's 8 Criteria for Thought Reform 1. Environmental Control - The purposeful limitation of all forms of communication with the outside world. 2. Mystical Manipulation - Extensive personal manipulation is used to provoke specific patterns of behavior and emotion in such a way that they will appear to have arisen spontaneously. 3. The Demand for Purity - The world is sharply divided between pure and impure with the group in the role of ultimate judge. Normal urges and tendencies become sins, and shame is used to control. 4. Confession - Carried beyo...

When Dealing With Punks, There's No Time to be a Liberal

Image
by David Warren In Toronto, on Thursday, I witnessed a little incident of some value to the interpretation of world affairs. It happened on a crowded westbound King Street trolley, trapped at Yonge Street by the early rush hour crowds. (Ottawans may envy any kind of functioning transit service.) Three young men, whom one might characterize as voluntary members of the underclass from the way they were dressed (expensive ghetto gear), jumped the back door of the trolley, in order to avoid paying fares. It is the sort of thing people just get used to in a decaying society. The drivers have their hands full processing paying customers through the front entrance, and can hardly be expected to guard the rear. But in this case, the driver more than noticed what was happening, apparently through his rear-view mirror. He shut the front doors, stalled the car, and elbowed his way through the standing passengers to confront his unpaid guests. "I've got bad news for you punks," he de...

Hamas, Fatah Come On Down! Play The Blame Game!

Image
by Khaled Abu Toameh Hamas and Fatah officials traded accusations over the weekend, holding each other responsible for the collapse of the reconciliation talks that were aimed at forming a new Palestinian unity government. The negotiations, which were held in Cairo under the auspices of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, were called off on Thursday after the two sides failed to solve most of their differences. BLAME is the concept. Notice I didn't say "responsibility." Think for a few seconds about the two words. Perhaps use them in a sentence. Blame is an affect laden word. Responsibility, on the other hand, does not tend to have the same level of affective (emotional) weighting. Usually, when we think of somebody as being to blame for an event we are judging both their behavior and that person. Hamas and Fatah spokesman said the talks might restart at the end of April. However, Fatah officials in Ramallah told The Jerusalem Post that, given the wide gap between ...

Vintage Netanyahu

This was such great stuff I am reposting it here: from OyVaGoy!: by Chas Newkey-Burden This is an interesting video from 1978 of a 28-year-old Benjamin Netanyahu (then known as Benjamin Nitay because Netanyahu sounded too much like a native American name for U.S. circles) speaking during a televised debate in America. His words are prescient. He says that a Palestinian state would become a terrorist state that threatened Israel. Fast forward to the 21st century. Israel withdraws from Gaza, Hamas takeover and bombard southern Israel with rockets. As he says of the Palestinian aims: “What were are talking about here is not the attempt to build a state, but to destroy one.” (Looking good, Bibi!) It Has Begun: Obama Announces He Is Open to Appeasing Taliban ...Update: Hamas & Hezbollah Too?

Image
from GATEWAY PUNDIT: Gee, they only harbored the terrorists behind the 9-11 attacks. What could go wrong? In a shocking move Barack Obama announced today that he was open to appeasing the anti-American Taliban fundamentalists. Astute Bloggers caught this from The New York Times : President Obama declared in an interview that the United States was not winning the war in Afghanistan and opened the door to a reconciliation process in which the American military would reach out to moderate elements of the Taliban, much as it did with Sunni militias in Iraq. But, lets be clear... It's only the "moderate elements" of radical Islamist fundamentalist organization that he is interested in appeasing. Who might that be? The moderate members who hide women under dark cloaks? The moderate members who keep women from holding jobs? The moderate members who burn down barbershops and bomb girl's schools? The moderate members who believe in Shariah law? The moderate members who be...

Bullying of Jews Taken on by Weisenthal Center

Image
by Abe Selig Growing harassment of Jewish students on college campuses across Britain, the US and Canada has prompted the Simon Wiesenthal Center to announce plans for an international effort to counter the phenomenon. The whole idea of the campaign is "to debunk the mythology of the anti-Israel forces," Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the center's associate dean, told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday. The campaign will include a so-called "iCAN" ad to run in student newspapers during this year's Israel Apartheid Week (which starts on Sunday), in which protesters worldwide will attempt to compare the Jewish state with the former racist regime in South Africa. The ad, which features two aluminum cans connected together by a string, asks where modern society would be if it boycotted Israeli technology. "Committed to boycotting Israel?" the ad asks. "Be Zion-free - do not use cellphones, voicemail, AIM and ICQ instant messaging, Google (which runs on Israel...

Catholics & Jews Must Stand Together in the Face of Islamism

Image
by Will Heaven For the first time since the death of Pope John Paul II, Catholic-Jewish relations have become strained. Pope Benedict XVI, in an effort to heal a 20-year-old schism in the Catholic Church, has allowed a high-profile Holocaust denier back into his fold. But must the views of one lunatic bishop put an end to interreligious dialogue? Surely not. Now, more than any other time in our troubled history, Catholics and Jews must stand together against the threat of Islamism. The Holocaust-denying Bishop Williamson is, by all accounts, a deeply unpleasant and ignorant man. Despite being educated at Cambridge University, he rejects the existence of the gas chambers in Nazi concentration camps. In doing so, he denies the Holocaust as a historical event, claiming that "only" 300,000 Jews perished. To Roman Catholics, these views are intolerable. The pope has expressed his disapproval in the strongest terms, saying to an American Jewish delegation, "The hatred that was...

Israel Told to 'End It By 1/20/09' - by TeamObama!

Image
By Procrustes: Aaron Klein, Jerusalem bureau chief for World Net Daily, writes from Herzliya, Israel, that according to a top defense official speaking to WND, representatives from the incoming administration of President-elect Barack Obama informed Israel they would like to see the Jewish state’s offensive against Hamas scaled back before tomorrow’s inauguration. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media, said he was not aware of any official demand from Obama or his team, but that members of Obama’s team made it clear to the Israeli government it would be better for them if Israel’s three-week offensive come to an end as Obama assumes office. A representative from Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s office, who would not speak on the record on the matter, denied there was any contact between Olmert’s office and Obama regarding the Hamas offensive. “There is one president. His name is George Bush. We only deal with him. There was no c...
