A Malignant Narcissist's Error Tactics

Image
I read this on one of my all-time favorite blogs and it really hit home. A few people have tried to demoralize me too. Even my late narcissistic parent. And its what terrorists do to get others to do what they want - demoralize. It's petty. So, herewith, an excerpt from Kathy Krajco's masterful blog : The aim of Error Tactics, then, is to demoralize us. First, don't allow a narcissist to relate to you as your judge. You can confront any attempt to do so. But you don't have to. You can just non-respond to it. In other words, act as though the narcissist didn't say the judgemental thing they just said. Change the subject. Walk out of the room. You are taking away their mirror. Then they can't see the image they're projecting in it. That is very unsettling to a narcissist. Really. Since they identify with that mirage, by making it disappear you give them an existential problem! There is probably nothing meaner you can do to a narcissist than just act...

ISRAEL AND ME: PTSD OF THE TERRORIZED

Image
Keli Ata wrote a good piece in March 2007 about the Israeli people, who endure daily acts of terrorism. She asked if their anxiety when they hear Arabic is the result of racism or PTSD? The answer, in my mind, was PTSD. Absolutely no question. I have had PTSD for 43 years now. Probably longer. PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is joked about and claimed by a lot of people who may or may not have it. And the 'fluff' we can read on the web about symptoms is not the same as the hard diagnostic materials that clinicals & psychiatrists have access too. The latter is horrifying in its accuracy to sufferers. I didn't know I had it until about 1998. About 1 year into my being a mother and just a few months after I was diagnosed with serious hormonally-caused Post Partum Depression. When my counselor brought it up to me, she honestly thought I knew that I had it. I didn't. Nor did I think I was depressed. I just thought I was moody, like everyone always ac...

Janet Napolitano's Advice? Fly Naked!

Image
by Andy Borowitz Responding to the botched terrorism attempt on board Delta flight 253 from Amsterdam to Detroit, the Department of Homeland Security announced today that it was considering a new rule that would force passengers to fly naked. "They won't be able to hide any powders or liquids, and they'll speed right through security," said Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. "This is a win-win." Anticipating complaints from chilly travelers, she said that the Homeland Security Dept. would force the airlines to institute a " Snugglies for Purchase " plan once the aircraft doors are closed. Ms. Napolitano expressed no embarrassment at having ignored a warning from the Delta terror suspect's dad made weeks before the terror attempt: "Our official policy is that we have to be warned by both the mom and dad before taking it seriously." Sexual Seduction & Psychic Terrorism

Image
I f we as a society, are going to condemn the sexual terrorism done by our government - then we must recognize and take steps to hold the perpetrators of emotional abuse, which includes 'sexual terrorism' accountable. Should we give Tiger Woods a pass? The way Obama gave Bush a pass? We need to stop blaming the victims and saying 'they agreed to it' or 'they knew what they were getting into' and hold those who destroy the lives of victims as well as their peace of mind -- accountable. SEDUCTION. The offense of a man who abuses the simplicity and confidence of a woman to obtain by false promises what she ought not to grant. 2. The woman being particeps criminis , has no remedy for the mere seduction, nor is there, to the discredit of the law, a direct remedy in her parents. The seducer may be sued, though not. directly or ostensibly for the seduction Just as adultery lingers in the criminal codes of some states, so does seduction. 5 Harr. & J. 27;...

Blind Diversity = Death

Image
When I believe they're right - I am happy to give these opinions more bandwith on my blog: TERROR IN TEXAS The nation today ponders the irony of the slaughter of US soldiers, not on a battlefield in some dusty and distant land -- but on an Army base deep in the heart of Texas. But there is no irony. In the terrorists' war on America, every square inch of the nation is a potential battlefield, including Ft. Hood, Texas. The point of terrorism is to terrorize. It matters not at all whether the victims are soldiers on a military base, or office workers in downtown Manhattan, as long as the results are so shockingly bloody that they sap the will of Americans to stand up for their way of life. But is the alleged gunman -- Army psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan -- really a terrorist? Well, with no warning and less provocation, Hasan on Thursday suddenly shouted "Allahu Akbar!" (Allah is great!) and opened fire on soldiers and civilians at a Ft. Hood deployment center. Thi...

9/11 - Remembering Forever

Image
It was eight years ago, and it was yesterday, and it is today, and it will be tomorrow. The planet has turned once more on the sky-blue day of horror, the day everything changed. So we stop in recognition of that which we remember quietly every day, that which we will go on remembering. For remembering is our forever unfinished business. First, there are the people. Mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, family and friends. And many strangers with whom we are bonded, whose names ring in love and fury, whose names make the printed page a field of tombstones. They are murder victims, almost 3,000 strong, killed by 19 foot soldiers of evil, dispatched by fanatics who burned with the desire to attack America. And burn to come again. Our business in that regard, too, is unfinished. That Osama Bin Laden remains at large is an affront. We take comfort in faith that he will get his. So, also, we can only await the end of his Al Qaeda henchmen imprisoned at Guantanamo, most notab...

Censorship or Keeping America Safe?

Image
I say "KEEPING AMERICA SAFE!" A Staten Island man will spend nearly six years (69 months) in prison for selling a satellite TV package to New York customers that included the Hezbollah television channel Al Manar (pictured), which the feds call "a terrorist organization masquerading as a TV channel." In December, Javed Iqbal, who emigrated to the U.S. from Pakistan as a teenager, agreed to a plea deal to settle the case, which could have landed him in prison for up to 15 years. At yesterday's sentencing, he said he was "deeply sorry" for what he calls a mistake, and his lawyer tells the Times the channel was just one "narrow aspect" of a TV package that was "180 degrees from Islamic fundamentalism." But federal prosecutor Eric Snyder called Iqbal "Hezbollah’s man in New York City. He did all this to bring the Hezbollah operations to our shores, to allow Hezbollah to have their operations here in New York City. That’s a very da...

Closed System of Logic

Image
My handful of readers are, I'm sure, tired of me comparing terrorists to abusers. For everyone else - I have to put these articles out there. One after the other. Yes, I do see abuse around every corner. Especially when it comes to these animals. You'll get it. Honest, you will. Now if people like Obama & Biden would just answer the clue phone. TWO LOOKS AT THE CRITERIA FOR THOUGHT REFORM Dr. Robert J. Lifton's 8 Criteria for Thought Reform 1. Environmental Control - The purposeful limitation of all forms of communication with the outside world. 2. Mystical Manipulation - Extensive personal manipulation is used to provoke specific patterns of behavior and emotion in such a way that they will appear to have arisen spontaneously. 3. The Demand for Purity - The world is sharply divided between pure and impure with the group in the role of ultimate judge. Normal urges and tendencies become sins, and shame is used to control. 4. Confession - Carried beyo...

Terrorism = Tantrums

Image
Hat tip GIYUS Ever observed a child having a tantrum? I have. One of my children is learning disabled and has tantrums that resemble cyclones. Now, how many of you have seen adults have them? I have - I've seen bosses, people on line at a store and people on mass transit have them. They don't want to "share" or admit to anything. They want it their way. Now. Of course, we've seen a lot of it online . People who just aren't getting their way. Bloggers who don't like reality or don't deal well with disagreement. And most of all trolls who decide that rather than dealing with things in an adult fashion - like civil debate - they will malign, smear, lie and cheat to gain sympathy and to gain the upper hand. They may even write blog posts about you or covert posts about you to tear you down. Its their site, and they figure - they will wield it like a bat if need be. Terrorism is a form of a tantrum. Albeit a deadly one. They don't get what t...
