Leader of the Achille Lauro Hijacking Freed from Prison

Image
by Aaron Klein Jerusalem Bureau Chief World Net Daily Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas personally interceded to urge the release of the terrorist who in 1985 infamously led the hijacking of an Italian cruise ship and the murder of an American Jewish passenger, according to two diplomatic sources with direct knowledge of the release negotiations. The two sources were working to petition against the release of Youssef Magied al-Molqui, who led the hijacking of the Italian cruiser Achille Lauro. The sources claimed to WND they were made aware from Italian officials that Abbas personally asked Italy to release al-Molqui. A spokesman for the PA denied Abbas had any involvement with al-Molqui’s release. Al-Molqui was the leader of a cell from the Palestinian Liberation Front, which splintered from Abbas’ PLO. The PLO at the time was led by Yasser Arafat. U.S. and Israeli policy considers Abbas’ PA to be moderate. Al-Molqui was released yesterday from a prison in Palermo, Italy, having ser...

"Committed to a Palestinian State"

Image
Stop the presses!! Didn't Chimpy just give a brilliant speech (written for him of course - kudos to the writer!) about appeasement on the floor of the Knesset? (yes don't faint, readers - his speech was brilliant and yes I mean President Bush) And its less than 48 hours? and he turns around and APPEASES the very entities attempting to annihilate Israel? He is living on opposite planet isn't he? US President George W. Bush on Saturday pledged to Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas that he was determined to help achieve the "dream" of establishing an independent Palestinian state. "I commit to you once again that my government will help achieve a dream, a dream that you have, and the truth of matter is, a dream that the Israelis have, which is two states (Israel and Palestine) living side by side in peace," Bush told Abbas. Earlier Bush told reporters he was confident about a Middle East peace deal being reached before his term ends in January. Bush was spea...

"We Have to Inflict Revenge Upon This Criminal Enemy”

Image
Oh, Hamas!! You so crazy!! You have to "inflict revenge" but you say you want peace? You INITIATE firing kassams into Israel and sending suicide bombers to kill innocent Jews but you say you want a cease-fire? Playing the victim again? Bad Hamas, time out for you! I am hearing your words, but watching your actions Hamas... and you are full of CAMEL DUNG! Gaza’s embattled Hamas leaders are seeking a cease-fire after months of Israeli attacks and sanctions, going so far as to make an unprecedented appeal through the Israeli media, a Hamas official confirmed Wednesday. The overture, which the Hamas leader made Tuesday through an Israeli reporter, followed an especially bloody day in which the Israeli air force killed 12 militants, including a top commander. Despite calls for a cease-fire within his Cabinet, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert pledged to continue targeting the leaders of militant groups who fire rockets into southern Israel almost daily. Ismail Haniyeh, leader ...

The High Price of "Peace At Any Cost"

by Anna Valerious I have made reference several times to what I call the Cult of Nice. When referring to the Cult of Nice I have commented on how this 'cult' labels it a 'sin' or 'wrong' to hurt someone's feelings. Both Christians and secular types who've swallowed pop psychology seem to often subscribe to this belief. This anti-logic provides a lovely escape hatch for malignant narcissists because you can be made into a 'sinner' for calling them on their garbage, or for simply stating truth. They wave the flag of their 'hurt' feelings and it is supposed that you will then cease and desist or risk being labeled a hateful, unkind person. You're accused of being mean... which is like a cuss word to the Cultists of Nice-land. The tables get turned so fast that the victim becomes abuser in a blink of an eye in this alternate universe of anti-logic. Those who subscribe to this kind of thinking are not being rational in any way. Which is wh...

Abbas Accuses Israel of Ethnic Cleansing

Image
So typical... So disgusting... Such blame-shifting, smear and ponerized LYING! What does he call Fatah's kassams? The P.A. Welcome Wagon!? The first trick of the defensive & guilty: SMEAR THE VICTIM By HEIDI VOGT Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel of implementing policies he claimed were part of an "ethnic cleansing" campaign in the Palestinian areas of Jerusalem. Speaking at a summit of Islamic countries in the Senegalese capital Dakar, Abbas said Israel had carried out policies designed to force Palestinians out of the city. "Our people in Jerusalem are under an ethnic cleansing campaign," Abbas said in a speech. "They are suffering from a series of decisions like tax hikes and construction prohibitions." Abbas said Palestinians "are facing a campaign of annihilation" by the Israeli state. In Washington, U.S. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said that "we would not use that term to describe the situation. ...

HE SEES WHAT?!?! I have always said Bush was delusional. I feel vindicated now. The whole 'mandate from God' thing for starters. This he "SEES" but he can't seem to find Bin Laden? (head in hands... shaking and walking away....) Bush sees Palestine state treaty within year By Matt Spetalnick and Wafa Amr President George W. Bush told Palestinians on Thursday he believed they would sign a peace treaty with Israel within a year that would give them their own state. Challenging skeptics on the first U.S. presidential visit to the West Bank city of Ramallah, Bush told a news conference with President Mahmoud Abbas: "I believe it's going to happen, that there will be a signed peace treaty by the time I leave office." In some of the boldest language he has used since hosting a summit at Annapolis, Maryland, in November that relaunched peace negotiations after a 7-year hiatus, Bush added: "I am confident that with proper help the state of Palestine w...

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE, AND WON'T BE DONE My comments here are below the article. - Barbara When Nothing but Bluntness Will Do Isi Leibler Prime Minister Olmert has announced that in the course of his meetings with President George W. Bush, besides discussing Iran, he intends to reassure the president that Israel will remain highly flexible and make every effort to enhance the status of our "peace partner," Mahmoud Abbas. Such a message would be utterly inappropriate. Now is the time for our prime minister to speak the truth to President Bush. He should alert him that under current circumstances, no meaningful outcome from our negotiations with the Palestinians is likely, and that raising false expectations could be highly counterproductive. President Bush is a true friend of Israel. In contrast to his predecessors, once he recognized the evil and duplicitous nature of Yasser Arafat, he severed relations and effectively marginalized him. He also brought to an end the era o...

DAMN YOU, OLMERT! You friggin' suck! Losing my temper isn't something I do often. And when I do it doesn't last long. I almost always... (and knowing the word ALWAYS is an absolute) give someone the benefit of the doubt. No matter how bad they hurt or how angry they have made me. But there are a very few people who I just give up on. I'm really p*ssed off. And one of those I have given up on is you, Olmert. I prayed for you, Olmert and your Government as well. That you would hear your fellow Jews and answer the clue phone. But you, your Government and appeasers like Avi Dichter are two-faced slime. I may not be the most informed about Israeli politics but I know when I see vipers. You're all pieces of worthless camel dung. Get out of dodge and let's put someone like Aryeh Eldad in there. I hope you all burn in hell someday for what you are doing to your people, Israel and Jerusalem. You're a sick bunch that needs to be run out of Israel. Go live i...

DID OLMERT JUST SAY...? Hold on a minute!! Ehud Olmert, right? He said he wants the PA to fight terror? And he won't negotiate until they do? So who gave this guy the testosterone shot? Wait... this is the same Olmert that talked to Abbas (the powerless snake) in Annapolis. And this is the Olmert who's about to face the Winograd Commission. Should be interesting... (by the way, am I wrong or did Olmert get rid of that ugly comb-over at last?) Olmert: No changes on the ground unless PA fights terror In aftermath of last Friday's deadly shooting attack on two off-duty soldiers near Hebron, prime minister tells cabinet 'PA must take necessary action against terror activity.' Deputy PM Yishai calls for suspension of peace talks Efrat Weiss Referring to last Friday's murder of two off-duty IDF soldiers by Palestinian gunmen near Hebron, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told cabinet Sunday that "as long as the Palestinian Authority does not take necessary action again...

FATAH, HAMAS & THE TERRORIST CLOWN-CAR Every time I see news like this I think "if we're lucky they will kill each off!" Then I remember that Abbasssss (snake like hiss at the end) handed off 'intel' to Hamas and that Fatah and Hamas were ...um, supposed to be joining forces. Wait! Abbas is powerless isn't he? Dang... so confusing! Like a clown car at the circus, you never know what's gonna spill out. Yet when I check my news feeds off and on during the day, I see posts and articles galore about the poor poor Palestinians. How Israel is conducting an 'ethnic cleansing' on them. People just can't seem to remember Israel is the only democracy in the area. They are the only ones using military force DEFENSIVELY. There are none so blind as those that cannot see. And the Palis can't see beyond shooting more kassams and sniper fire into Israel and each other. What's it going to take before people wake up to the fact that their ac...

FUNNY BECAUSE IT'S SOMEWHAT TRUE! I love the Onion. When I worked I would often spend my lunch hours reading the free papers around NYC and trying not to choke on a tuna sandwich from laughing. I know from writing & performing comedy that truth is the funniest material there is. Here's a couple on recent events from The Onion that are not to be missed! The Mideast Peace Talks At last week's historic Mideast peace conference in Annapolis, MD, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert of Israel and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas sat down to begin the peace process. Here is what they agreed on: Jews will have East Jerusalem from January to June and Palestinians will have it from June to December To just meet again in another seven years The Gaza Strip is the rightful land of anybody who is nuts enough to live there Each country gets a pass on one rocketing per year Matzo/falafel cross-marketing campaign could be huge To at least fight over some nicer land Leave Becky Reynolds, wh...

BATTERED ISRAEL SYNDROME In bed yesterday, holding a heated oat bag to myself and wearing a metholated chest plaster to stop the coughing I started thinking about lying. My post on lying and how I feel about it yesterday was on my mind. Also on my mind was last week's Annapolis summit. It still upsets me. It was a dangerous and foolish meeting. One of the reasons I feel that way will stay personal. If I told you, you'd all send out the men with straightjackets telling them to look for me blogging while wearing a tinfoil hat. The other is the lying. The non-stop and lethal lying. Bush is lying to himself that he can do one "good" thing by making peace in the Middle East. He's already created a bad situation in Iraq, and he and his buddies are backstroking in oil money. But he's got Clueless Condi, the Dhimmi - telling him she can do this. He can't and she certainly can't. Condi, stick to your Ferragamos and stop kissing and hugging terrorists...

Foreshadowing Annapolis

Image
One of my problems with the Annapolis Summit was personal. Too personal. So my view of the summit was skewed because of this. The biggest one being that Annapolis, MD does not hold a good memories for me. I have been down in the D.C. area many times in the last couple years, because of my advocacy work for domestic violence victims and disability parity. I know the Hill well and have met with a few politicos or their assistants. It's not brain surgery, just makes me a concerned citizen. I also have a very dear friend in Virginia who I wish lived closer. But Annapolis. No. The year was 1977 and I was a sophomore in college (so now you all know I'm in my 50s... yeah I'm old.). In high school I had dated a boy for a while. The relationship had a very traumatic, and in retrospect - truly criminal ending.  In retrospect I should have been in therapy and on medication for the severe effects it had on me - effects that huge on me mentally & physically for yea...
