Condi's "Pretty Fruitful" Sense of Reality

Image
Condi! Snap out of it! Ease the day-to-day life of the Palestinians? Did anyone take her to see any of the kassam damage, suicide bombing remains or the yeshiva shooting site? The willful ignorance here is just astounding and knows no bounds! ~~~~~~~~~ US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, arriving here on Saturday evening, described talks between Israel and the Palestinians as "pretty fruitful," and stressed that she was not bringing any bridging proposals of her own. Rice was hosted for a working supper by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. No statement was issued after the discussions. Speaking on her way to the region, Rice said, "I am not coming to insert American ideas into this process. What is useful right now is for the parties to continue what I think is a pretty fruitful discussion between them." Speaking to reporters aboard her plane, Rice said she would focus on three issues in her two-day visit to the region - easing Palestinian movement and access in the ...

ONE OF THESE THINGS IS JUST LIKE THE OTHER I gotta do it again... I know its monotonous and I sound like "Barbara-One-Note." However, repetition does help my ADD child so, maybe, just maybe - someone who stumbles onto my humble blog will read this and GET IT!! Yes, I do believe in negotiation, peace when possible and talking & openness. Yes, even with people who have hurt you or you hurt - in fact - ESPECIALLY. HOWEVER - in the case of the current Annapolis Conference with the Clown Car from Middle East now open and the clowns running amok around the stage - TALKING IS NOT GOING TO WORK. BECAUSE ITS ALL AN ACT. WE HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE and as my friend, Chaim said, the players are the same and the script has not altered . Except maybe Olmert the Jellyfish might help the snake pit of Arabs take apart Israel (something he has NO BIBLICAL RIGHT TO DO!) And why does it seem like I have done a 180-degree turn here? First, read why I relate personally to the plight of Is...

THAT SICK FEELING... The moment I saw this today I felt that sickly feeling in my gut. You know the feeling - that very strong "nothing good is going to come of this" feeling. Look who we are dealing with here: Assad, Bush & Olmert. Among other things I have congential cardiac problems; and these clowns aren't helping matters at all. Wonder if I can stick some politico with my next trip to St. Francis? Is anything really going to be accomplished here except more rhetoric, more promises and more dead Jewish children & adults because they are unable to stop the Islamofascist tide? PM: Assad wants talks, but only with Bush By Aluf Benn, Shmuel Rosner, and Barak Ravid Haaretz Correspondents Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met Wednesday in Tel Aviv with ambassadors of European Union countries to Israel, a gathering that in great part focused on Syria and the possibility of a renewal of peace talks. Olmert acknowledged that the Syrian talks is an issue that the a...

TAKING THEIR GRIEF TO THE INTERNET By Taylor Gandossy For one Virginia Tech sophomore, the terrible news didn't come through a conversation with a friend or from the authorities, or even over the phone. He learned of his friend Ross Alameddine's death through an AOL instant message with another friend. "He was a really good friend of mine," the student, who didn't wish to be named, said through instant message, adding that they had grown apart before the shootings. As their campus churned with chaos, many Virginia Tech students, grief-stricken and bewildered, turned to the Internet to share information and stories, ask questions and comfort each other. On Facebook.com, a members-only social Web site popular among college students, dozens of groups were created, starting moments after the shootings. Students updated information within existing groups, and created additional groups long into the night, and into Tuesday. As the number of confirmed deaths climbed from...

DUMB, DUMBER & SCHMUCK Looks like Israel & Palestine will be having bi-monthly meetings over falafel. Perhaps Abbas and Olmert will play 18 holes with a caddy who has grenades & crocodiles strapped to his body, just to keep it interesting. READ THE STORY HERE Does anyone, besides me, think this is a pathetic waste of time & resources? I wish I had a better answer but there is no answer when faced with a bunch of Islamofascists who want all Jews wiped off the face of the Earth. How do you answer that except in the defense stance? (Plagues of raw sewage notwithstanding) At least the science backs me up: Meetings make us dumber, study shows Brainstorming sessions backfire when group thinking clouds decisions People have a harder time coming up with alternative solutions to a problem when they are part of a group, new research suggests. Scientists exposed study participants to one brand of soft drink then asked them to think of alternative brands. Alone, they came up wit...
