Hillary Still has a Global Following

Image
By: Kenneth P. Vogel and Laura Rozen Nearly two years after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ended her losing presidential campaign and endorsed rival Barack Obama, Clinton’s allies maintain a triad of groups that have continued to make her presence felt in the political world — and could serve as a platform for the next phase of her public life. Her presidential campaign committee, still in the process of winding down, maintains and makes money off a lasting asset from her presidential bid — an e-mail list of 2.5 million core supporters. Her Senate campaign committee accrues modest interest on a $1.9 million nest egg. And a thriving foundation called No Limits, founded after Clinton resigned from the Senate to join Obama’s Cabinet, works to burnish her legacy, maintains contact with Clinton supporters and pursues a policy agenda that closely mirrors Clinton’s own — health care and women’s issues. The three entities operate almost completely apart from Clinton, who is barred by proto...

Palin: Crazy or Just Unorthodox?

Image
by Charlie Cook The political community's reaction to Alaska Republican Gov. Sarah Palin's announcement that she would resign on July 26 was swift, withering and very nearly unanimous. It's hard to dispute that Palin handled the announcement badly, but was her decision to resign really crazy, or just unexpected, with the press reacting to an unorthodox move by declaring it insane? First, look at the issue of not seeking re-election in 2010 and work back. A good case can be made that seeking a presidential nomination has become an extraordinarily difficult undertaking in terms of organization-building, fundraising and cultivating the relationships necessary to win. And perhaps doing that well and being an effective governor are mutually exclusive. Would Palin really get that many more "experience points" for sticking around Juneau, if it meant missing a lot of gripping and grinning at Lincoln Day dinners and other state and local party functions? Since Bill Clinton...

Israel Betrayed

Image
By JAMES KIRCHICK When Barack Obama was running for president, he vigorously reassured voters of his firm commitment to America's special relationship with Israel. Indeed, he worked to beef up his pro-Israel bona fides long before he even announced his intention to run. In a 2006 speech before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, Obama recounted a helicopter tour over the Israeli border with the West Bank. "I could truly see how close everything is and why peace through security is the only way for Israel," he said. In that same speech, Obama called the Jewish State "our strongest ally in the region and its only established democracy." During the primary and general election campaigns, Obama dispatched a stream of high-profile Jewish supporters to canvas Florida, and in a 2008 AIPAC speech, he went so far as to declare that Jerusalem must remain the "undivided" capital of Israel. For all the qualms that anti-Obama "smears" would dep...

Promises, Promises

Image
Chill, People! It Was Just a Campaign Promise! by SusanUnPC Lyn just e-mailed me to ask if anyone is tracking the number of campaign promises that Obama has broken. Do you know of such a list? I realize it would be rather long, and difficult to keep up. But one would hope. Here’s one of the latest, via Lyn, and from Political Punch blog at ABC News in “ Despite Campaign Pledge, President Obama Refuses to Use Word ‘Genocide’ When Describing Slaughter of Armenians “: Despite a campaign promise that he would boldly use the word “genocide” as president when describing the Ottoman Empire’s slaughter of up to 1.5 million Armenians in the early part of the last century, President Obama deliberately avoided use of that word in his statement today on Armenian Remembrance Day. “We’re profoundly disappointed,” Aram Hamparian, executive director of the Armenian National Committee of America, told ABC News. “All the more so because his statements on this in his record before he became president...

How Obamabots Handle Dissent

Image
Ah, the Obamabots welcoming the democracy process with open arms!! from THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE While a GOP leader in Florida had his home shot at by political opponents, acts of vandalism, dirty tricks, and threats of violence are escalating in California. The state is doubly hit by the contentious US presidential race and the controversial Proposition 8, which would ban gay marriage statewide. Examples of this include the Ottos of Carmichael, CA were intimidated into removing their pro-McCain lawn signs. Another family promoting Proposition 8 with lawn signs were victimized by graffiti vandals who wrote “Bigots live here” on their car window. Many other reports have surfaced about the vandalizing of lawn signs promoting a political agenda. In California, stealing or damaging signs worth less than $400 is a misdemeanor and anything worth more than $400 is a felony. Victims are urged to file a complaint with the police. from THE JAWA REPORT: Obama Supporters to Pollsters: "Be Care...

Hillary Supporters Sharing Info for RICO Case Against Obama's Camp

Image
This morning on the way to drop off my kids at school, I heard a radio pundit say that this campaign is full of petty concerns about Obama. I don't know about you but I don't like these sort of SERIOUS concerns being marginalized & minimized. Like Judge Judy says "Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's rain!" FROM HILLBUZZ If you haven't been a regular here at HillBuzz, you might not know about Gigi Gaston's documentary "We Will Not Be Silenced" on the caucus fraud deliberately orchestrated by the Obama campaign during the primaries. Voter intimidation, registration fraud, vandalism, threats of violence, you name it, Obama's supporters did it. For veterans of the McGovern '72 campaign who remembered thugs and hooligans engaged in similar tactics in service of their own far left candidate, the actions of Obama's followers were so bad that even people who've lived through the last 36 years of ups and downs in America testifie...

Attention Voters: Who Am I?

Image
From the GREAT NoQuarter: Who Am I? * I am under 45 years old, * I love the outdoors, * I hunt, * I am a Republican reformer, * I have taken on the Republican Party establishment, * I have many children, * I have a spot on the national ticket as vice president with less than two years in the governor’s office. Teddy Roosevelt In 1901, as Vice President, the 42-year-old Roosevelt succeeded President William McKinley after McKinley’s assassination by anarchist Leon Czolgosz. He is the youngest person to become President. He was a Progressive reformer who sought to move the dominant Republican Party into the Progressive camp. He distrusted wealthy businessmen and dissolved forty monopolistic corporations as a “trust buster”. He was clear, however, to show he did not disagree with trusts and capitalism in principle but was only against corrupt, illegal practices. His “Square Deal” promised a fair shake for both the average citizen (through regulation of railroad rates and pure food and dru...

More Marginalizing of Women & Deification of Obama

Image
ONasty is still lifting his dawg-leg on women. His bots are "in their faces" for standing up to the gang rapes of Hillary and now Sarah. You should see some of nonsense I delete (and will continue to delete) from this blog. (FYI Obamabots - it's my blog, it's my opinion... if you don't like it there are millions of other blogs to choose from so shoo-shoo on back to NoBama's site with your own kind. As a PROGRESSIVE -- yeah, I said PROGRESSIVE -- I want to see PROGRESS. I see ZERO in Obama. I still more of the same lying, race baiting, sexism, hope-nosis, crowd manipulation, mind controlling thuggery that the REPUBLICANS did for the last eight years. Snake Oil is not Progress. John McCain would be PROGRESS. And this is STILL America and I STILL get to make my own choices and STILL form my own opinion.) Obloviate and his minions are the only ones crying RACISM! Hello? The man is only 1/2 Black. If anyone's RACIST it's him & his sheeple. ...

Obama, the Vote Swiper?

Image
From The Confluence Vote, or Risk Having Your Vote Stolen ! I sincerely believe that Obama for America intends to try to steal the presidential election, just as George W. Bush did in 2000. Obama’s track record proves that he has absolutely zero integrity and an utter disregard for democratic prinicples. That is the primary reason that I do not support him and think that he would be a danger to our country, and perhaps put the final nail in the coffin of our democratic process. People like Bush and Obama want to make voters irrelevant. They care only about the corporate vote, which is cast not with a ballot, but with a greenback. They still need to pretend, however, that the voters actually did make the final decision. Obama can only use his shills in the media to get him close to the finish line. That provides the cover for when the “ground game” comes in and makes sure that the actual vote count is in their favor. Republicans and Democrats have different methods for doing this...

Joe Biden Shoots Off His Dem-Sexist Mouth

Image
from Andrew Malcolm: Democrat Joe Biden likes Republican Sarah Palin's looks Oh, jeez, here we go already. With the canny, seemingly good-natured-but-really-a-put-down jokes about a female candidate. The lone female is gone from the Democratic race; they can't use the old pantsuits laugher anymore. So Joe Biden trotted out the subtly dismissive, isn't-she-pretty line about you-know-who, the newbie on the Republican side. (Translation: There's really nothing else to her to comment about, but I won't say that because I'm not a sexist.) Democratic senators and presidential running mates Joe Biden and Barack Obama confer in Washington We wonder how this goes down with those millions of female Hillary Clinton supporters whom both sides covet. Biden was in Ohio with his Democratic ticket partner, whom he once described as "clean," and told an outdoor rally: “There’s a gigantic difference between John McCain and Barack Obama and between me and I suspect my vi...

How LOW Can They Go?

Image
Unbelievable! The smearing and slamming of Sarah Palin is already boggling my mind. I remember a professor of mine in college talking about the inner process of acting with me. We were sitting in his office and the conversation was getting very esoteric and interesting to me. At one point in our chat he leaned forward and said, "be careful what you hate and fear; because there's an inherent danger in BECOMING that thing as you try to fight it." I didn't understand what he meant at the time but I remembered and as the years wore on he's been proved right over & over again. The Dems and Far Left as now JUST AS BAD AS THE ACCUSED THE FAR RIGHT OF BEING IN 2000 AND 2004!! Today alone I heard that: Sarah Palin isn't a good mother to her infant, special needs child - because she's running for Vice President! (Would they say that to a man?) Sarah Palin was a knee-jerk choice on McCain's part because the RNC vetoed Joe Lieberman. (say what??) Sarah Pa...
