For Obama to be chatting in a one-on-one with Qazwini, is equivalent to meeting with Ayatollah Khomeini’s, and Hezbollahs’ representative in America! Qazwini is an Iraqi born cleric of exceptional religious pedigree and runs America’s largest Mosque, in Detroit Michigan. Widely understood to be a moderate reformist, Qazwini claims to be a proud American while incessantly harping-on about being a proud (?) Victim of American Islamophobia. To his credit, he enjoys the endorsement of George Bush in the past, and is widely seen as a “progressive” scholar, but as with all things Muslim and Western, he is far from any “progressivism” in the common sense of the word. OBAMA GETS ISRAEL WRONG BY HILLEL HALKIN Even before the recent brouhaha about Barack Obama's membership in a church whose minister is openly pro-Farrakhan and anti-Israel, I found the thought of his becoming the next president of America unnerving — and not just because his rhetoric, general outlook, and location in the Democratic Party did not encourage one to think that he would tend if elected to be a particularly strong backer of Israel. Perhaps I've grown cynical and jaded, but I've never been able to understand what the excitement generated by Mr. Obama in his supporters is all about. Muslim Day Parade? Just caught this one in my newspaper today. More Islamic Sanitization and dhimmitude: Mission Statement United American Muslim Day Parade For almost twenty years, the MFA has annually sponsored our biggest event, The United American Muslim Day Parade in Manhattan. It is held on the last Sunday of September each year. (September 9, 2007) The Parade's purpose is to bring communities of various ethnic and religious groups together to promote a better understanding of Islam and to establish interfaith cooperation between Muslims and all other religious/community groups.
