I have purposely avoiding speaking my politics on this blog. Despite being a bit of a political junkie, I wanted to keep it about spirituality and other things that interest me - but there is something going on in my America. Something insidious, frightening and I am not longer able to stay quiet. That is the movement of the Far Religious Right into the heart and soul of our Government. Either blatant or via shadow organizations. Additionally, as someone deeply involved with trying to stop Domestic & Personal Violence (see my other blog) the actions of these neocons scream manipulation, mind control and pervasive coercion. In short, narcissism at its most vile & destructive. USING GOD to control?? This is where I DRAW THE LINE!!


I had the opportunity to attend a conference in New York City on 4/30/05 with fellow blogger Iddybud on just this issue. Over the next few weeks I am going to publish articles that back up my feelings about the insidious control neocons are asserting over my America, articles from speakers I heard and extort my fellow patriots to snap out the trance and TAKE BACK AMERICA!!!! First let me say I don't like being fat. Yes, I diet and yes, to the degree my disability (unrelated to my weight) allows me - I do exercise. A while back someone posted really malicious things about my weight, my character and even my disability online. Even throwing in a very twisted, backward and upside-down version of what really occurred between us. To wit (edited for foul language): You used the internet to track him down after 30 years, which wasn’t too hard because he’s a published writer. You got him to agree to meet up with you. Miriam's Cup

Several new Passover seder rituals are being adopted by Jewish familes to honor the role of Miriam, Moses's sister and the Prophetess in the Exodus, and to highlight the contributions of women to Jewish culture, both past and present. A second cup, called Miriam's Cup, is being added to the Passover dinner table along with Elijah's Cup. Miriam's Cup is filled with water and symbolizes the miracle of Miriam's well, which sustained the Israelites during their long journey in the desert.
