"CURSE YOU CBS!"

I read the following in the newspaper while waiting at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Manhattan yesterday for my cardiac testing. It is a good lampooning of the blame shifting and lack of personal or global responsibility chronically being taken by the media. Minimizing, media spin, "the twinkie defense" about everything. How come o one's ever accountable? How come its always "well I did it, BUT... Its tiring to read and its all making my head hurt. A laugh for Shabbos with this one -
"After reading about Prince's XXX-rated Super Bowl show and the person that complained that his antics made his son gay, I now know what happened to me.

"In 1963, I was watching 'Captain Kangaroo' on CBS, of course. As he was talking to Mr. Green Jeans, he placed his keys into the front pocket of his jacket and seductively jingled them.

"My mother entered the room at that moment and screamed at me to turn off that filth. She then raced me off to the hospital wondering what kind of deadly disease I might have contracted from some one named Green Jeans.

"I'm gay now and it's CBS' fault."

ON WATERBOARDING Sultan Knish has a very good post about waterboarding. While I am personally against torture, he makes some very strong and valid points. I hope everyone goes and reads the whole thing ! Standing By Your Sex-Hobbyist -Man; Because It's Your Fault Too?

Eliot, I accept your apology. I won't forget your behavior and hypocrisy but I am starting to forgive because of the stand-up way you've handled everything Because you did something very few men who get caught do. YOU OWNED YOUR BEHAVIOR. You didn't deny or act like it didn't happen. You didn't project that you were targetted and harrassed. You didn't put it all out there because of your family, that's understandable - but you admitted you did something wrong and you showed a lot of class in resigning. Now, work with your wife to heal your marriage, please. And don't cover up or smear anyone involved in this investigation. You seem to be a guy who made a HUGE mistake rather than one of the pathologicals running rampant in politics (and many other places) today.
