Iraqi girl stoned to death on video

I just have this to say: AAAARRRRGGGG!!

And we are NEGOTIATING with these murderous neaderthals?

A 17-year-old girl was stoned to death in Iraq for loving a boy of another religion. The stoning happened last month but only became known when a graphic video of the stoning went out on the Internet.

Amnesty International condemned the death of Du'a Khalil Aswad as "an abhorrent murder" and demanded her killers be brought to justice. Reports from Iraq said security forces witnessed the incident, but did nothing to try to stop it, Britain's Daily Mail reported Friday.

Eight or nine men dragged the teenager outside and stoned her for half an hour until she died. Her boyfriend is in hiding for fear for his life.

Miss Aswad, a member of the minority Yezidi religious sect centered in the norhtern Kurdish state, was killed in an "honor killing" by men in her family and hardline religious leaders because of her relationship with the Sunni Muslim boy. She had taken refuge in the house of a Yezidi tribal leader in Bashika, a predominantly Kurdish town near the northern capital, Mosul.

Her killers believed she shamed herself and her family when she failed to return home one night. Some reports suggest she converted to Islam to be closer to her boyfriend.

It is feared her death triggered retaliation from Muslims. Last week 23 Yezidi workmen were forced off a bus and shot dead by a group of Sunni gunmen.
