INTERNATIONAL KABBALAH CONGRESS IN ISRAEL 2008

(" ...Since there is a wonderful merit for those who study the wisdom of Kabbalah and although they do not understand what they study, it is from their strong desire to understand what they study, that they bring upon themselves the Lights which surround their souls",
Baal HaSulam, Introduction to Talmud of the ten Spheres.)

About the Congress

What Is an International Kabbalah Congress?
An International Kabbalah Congress is a gathering of Kabbalah students who meet from all parts of the world to participate in mutual lessons with Kabbalist Rav Michael Laitman PhD, discussions, seminars, workshops, Yeshivot Haverim (Friends’ Gatherings), meals, songs and other activities with the aim of increasing the spiritual connection between one another, and humanity at large.

What Does "Unity & Dissemination" Mean?
The aim of Kabbalah is to attain spirituality—to reveal the complete picture of nature, achieve world peace, eternal life and unbounded fulfillment—while living in this world. These goals are possible only by transforming our inborn egoistic nature to the quality of giving to the other. For this to be realized, a special environment of friends willing to relinquish their self-concern, and unite for the sake of fulfilling each other’s spiritual aspirations is needed. Thus, unity stands for the congress’s aim to increase this spiritual unity among friends, and dissemination stands for the means of spreading such a unity to increase the spirituality of humanity as a whole.

If this will be your first Bnei Baruch Kabbalah congress, then here you can find out what to expect:

Over 2,000 people from over 50 countries will be attending the 2008 International Kabbalah Congress this February.

The purpose of this gathering is to take a big step toward achieving spiritual unity and perfection among humanity, that which Kabbalists have written about and anticipated for over 5,000 years.

The main subject of the congress is Unity among Friends. This subject was chosen out of the need to build the spiritual vessel, the group of people uniting based on a common aspiration to achieve the purpose of creation.

The 2008 International Kabbalah Congress program includes daily lessons with Rav Michael Laitman PhD, discussions, workshops, festive meals, friends' gatherings, singing and unique cultural evenings, all with the focus on increasing the unity between us.

Lessons
What Are the Special Benefits of the Kabbalah Lessons during the Congress?

The lessons at the congress are a rare uplifting experience. More than 2,000 people will be united as one, yearning to achieve the purpose of creation.

During the study we connect to a deeper, hidden level of reality, described in the Kabbalists’ writings. On that level, all people are united as one soul, immersed in endless delight.

In fact, the study is not an intellectual matter, since the goal of the study is attained through our desire. Hence, the more we focus on our shared desire to attain the goal—the closer we come to it.

Yeshivat Haverim (Gathering of Friends)
What Is Yeshivat Haverim (Gathering of Friends) and What Is it for?

Several Yeshivot Haverim (gatherings of friends) will take place during the congress. These are very important bonding events, rooted in ancient Kabbalists’ traditions. During the gathering we read words of Kabbalists concerning the unity of friends, sing together, and listen to friends’ inspiring stories.

The purpose of the Yeshivat Haverim is to unite our desires into a single desire, aiming towards the right goal. To guarantee the success of the gathering, we ask that each person coming to the congress will prepare himself (prior to arrival at the congress) to speak at the Yeshivat Haverim.

VIDEOS ON KABBALAH

Unfortunately, I will not be attending this, though I would like to. As a divorced, disabled mom living on Social Security there is no way I could afford to go as well as have child-care I consider adequate for my children. They come first. But if you are attending, please update me when you get a chance. Thank you. - Barbara
